Urban Homework's Groundbreaking

We're so excited to have been a part of Urban Homework’s Groundbreaking ceremony this past week. Together, we celebrated the commencement of 5 new Phius design certified affordable passive homes in Northside Minneapolis. We were thrilled to hear from our project partners at Urban Homeworks and from the funders who made this incredible project possible at the City of Minneapolis, the Metropolitan Council, Minnesota Housing and the City of Lakes Community Land Trust. We also heard from a long-time neighbor about the tragic events from the 2011 tornado that took the homes of many Northside residents, leaving the properties in ruin. These affordable passive homes will be building upon these sites to improve the community with affordable healthy homes that will have greatly reduced energy costs that will help these new homeowners build equity. Construction begins soon, stay tuned for more updates.
