research

Research is a core value. We take the time to teach and pursue additional training because we believe that continued learning makes us better, more relevant, designers. If we don't have an immediate answer, we find the answer in the form of published material and consulting with experts. We're also committed to sharing the innovative work we're doing by speaking regularly at conferences and workshops and volunteering with professional organizations.

Abby is interested in applied research, most recently investigating net-zero and net-positive energy design and planning for clients at the building and neighborhood scale. Elizabeth's research has focused on integrating planning for energy and carbon reduction on college campuses. Janneke is volunteering with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to discover new ways to reduce construction waste that ends up in landfills and brings a particular passion for materials and specifications. We aim to learn something new on each project.
